Safe Haven is a collaborative effort between VPS, Clara Martin
Center (Orange County Community Mental Health Center) and the
National Alliance on Mentally Illness-Vermont-Orange County.

The project is a 6 bed Community Therapeutic Care Home (Level 3)
for people with mental health issues and homeless. The home is
staffed by peers and the treatment is provided by Clara Martin
Center. It is a recovery-oriented project which works to assist the
person to live in the least restrictive care environment they
can upon discharge. Many to their own apartments.

This project is funded through Housing Urban Development
(HUD), Vermont Mental Health (VMH) and community donations.
